Great Lakes Door Systems grew out of a construction company whose clients kept asking us to supply and install doors. Today we focus on door systems from our locations in Ridgetown and Wheatley, serving homeowners and businesses across Southern Ontario. We install and service Clopay® garage doors for homes and commercial overhead doors for commercial and industrial buildings.
How We Install Your Door
Residential Garage Doors
Each Clopay door is made to order, so we start with exact measurements of your opening. Our installers pay attention to details like concealed wiring and precise sealing, and they make on-site adjustments so the door fits properly the first time. Professional garage door installation keeps the door, tracks and springs aligned. We also stand behind our work with a 1-year installation warranty.
Commercial and Industrial Doors
For commercial and industrial buildings, we install Clopay overhead sectional doors in steel and aluminum. Energy Series options add insulation designed to reduce heating and cooling costs, and Clopay's overhead doors suit warehouses, loading docks and industrial facilities. Share your opening size and how often the door is used, and we will help you select a configuration that meets your specifications.
Residential Styles to Consider
Coachman® doors pair a swing-out carriage house appearance with overhead convenience. They use 4-layer construction with a woodgrain-textured composite overlay over steel, and they come with arched, rectangular and square window designs. Canyon Ridge® 5-layer doors go a step further with composite overlays molded from real wood boards, so you get the grain of Clear Cypress or Mahogany.
Gallery® Steel doors have grooved panels in short or long designs, with multiple standard colors that include Ultra-Grain® wood-look finishes. Bridgeport™ Steel doors feature recessed panels, from a narrow contemporary design to an extended traditional design. Both lines are available in 3-layer, 2-layer and single-layer construction.
For a contemporary exterior, Modern Steel™ doors have a sleek designed look with slim windows and flush or grooved panels. Avante® aluminum and glass doors let you control light and privacy, from clear glass to frosted and tinted panels. Any of these styles can be finished with Color Blast® custom colors, so you can choose the finish that complements your home.
Insulation for Southern Ontario Winters
Many Clopay doors come with insulation options. Gallery Steel doors offer Intellicore® polyurethane or polystyrene insulation with R-value ratings from 6.5 to 18.4, and Modern Steel doors offer ratings up to 18.4. A higher rating means lower heat transfer through the door. In an attached garage, insulation helps minimize temperature fluctuations through cold winters, and it supports energy efficiency.
Preview Your Door with EZDoor
The EZDoor™ design tool lets you upload a photo of your home and try different Clopay styles, panel designs, windows, hardware and finishes. Save your design and share it with us, and we will prepare an estimate for the door you built.
Openers and Service
We install LiftMaster® garage door openers for residential and commercial doors. Chain drive openers pair well with heavier doors, while belt drive openers are quieter and work better with lightweight doors.
We also service and repair doors, including doors we did not install. Springs hold a great deal of tension, so we recommend leaving spring work to a professional, and a frayed cable can cause a door to drop suddenly. Routine garage door service helps catch worn parts before they cause a breakdown. If something does not go as planned, we correct it as promptly as we can.
