Clopay® Adds Mixed-Material Design to Canyon Ridge® Modern Series
Clopay Corporation, North America’s largest manufacturer of residential and commercial garage doors, has introduced a new design to its Canyon Ridge® Modern series. The latest option pairs horizontal composite planks with black laminated glass inlays, offering a bold, high-contrast look for modern and transitional homes.
First shown at the 2026 International Builders’ Show, the door reflects a growing trend toward layered exteriors that mix materials and textures. Stained wood-look planks add warmth, while black glass inlays introduce visual contrast and a subtle reflective quality.
The door can stand out against light or dark color palettes or blend with natural elements like stone, metal, and wood accents to create a unified exterior with depth and curb appeal. The black laminated glass inlays are completely opaque, providing decorative design interest without allowing light or visibility inside the garage.
Canyon Ridge Modern series doors combine mid-century inspired design with durable construction. Each door is made from a low-maintenance faux wood composite that resists rot and weathering, making it a practical choice for a range of climates. A two-inch polyurethane foam insulated steel core provides an R-value of 18.4, to help reduce noise and improve comfort inside the garage year-round. The composite boards are molded from real wood pieces to emulate the look and feel of the species.
The Canyon Ridge Modern garage door with black laminated glass inlays is available in Clear Cypress or Mahogany cladding and can be primed, painted, or stained to match a home’s exterior.
